ATTENTION SPAN

Evolutionary changes to our biology may take millennia to transpire, but we are constantly and have been systematically changed by a cultural evolution throughout human history. Reading, writing, and painting among others are all learned tasks that chemically change the way our brains work.  Thus, in the present digitally saturated era where time itself has been shrunk, it would be naive to assume we [humans] continue to operate as we did 10,000, 100, or even 10 years ago. This omnipresent force of information has shortened messages to 140 characters, compressed videos to 7 seconds, and replaced affection with a thumbs up. If we assume this communicative overhaul has impacted society, how can we theorize its impact on architecture?
